Dedicated to the memory of Carol McLernon

We are immensely sad to share the news that Carol passed away on Wednesday 24th July, peacefully and at home, surrounded by so much love. She managed to get home from hospital for a week before she passed away, in which she shared a lovely few days with her nearest and dearest.

After fighting leukaemia on and off for 8 years, a stroke, an intensive care visit, many months worth of hospital stays, endless outpatient appointments, hundreds of bags of blood and platelets, a bone marrow transplant and an unrelenting positive attitude in spite of her dealing with everything, she can finally rest in peace.

Since April this year Carol spent the majority of her time in Addenbrooks or West Suffolk Hospital. Her last 6-8 weeks in hospital were at West Suffolk on the Macmillan Ward, she was eventually moved into a room on the ward that opened out onto the beautiful garden, meaning her beloved dog Fern could visit everyday. Her grandson Isaac was also able to visit. The room was funded by donations, as was the lovely garden area. We, and Carol agreed, would love to be able to give something back to West Suffolk’s Macmillan Ward, as they made her time in hospital that little bit better.

Donations, if desired, to My WiSH Charity - The Macmillan Ward, which were also Carol’s wishes.

As we are anticipating large numbers, we are asking for RSVP’s to Lucy - 07590 011535 or lucylooo@hotmail.co.uk
